JOB SUMMARY

The Government Relations Specialist/Capital Markets Specialist  assists the Director of Capital Markets with maintaining relationships, workflows, policies, procedures, and compliance associated with being a Ginnie Mae Issuer to include Ginnie Mae, Bank of New York Mellon (Pool Administrator), Ginnie Mae Document Custodian, Settlement Agent and Brokers.  The preferred candidate should be able to cross-train and support peers in the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac space.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

  • Acts as Administrator for Ginnie Mae Systems (GinnieNet & GMEP).
  • Trains backup Security Administrator for GMEP and serves as conduit for user management around GNMA security tokens.
  • Responsible for updating loan origination systems with all the required information necessary for the proper import of the loans to Ginnie Mae’s website and maintaining investor and servicer header data
  • Responsible for oversight of all loans committed to Ginnie Mae which includes setting up Pool Headers in GinnieNet, monitoring pool submissions, monitoring initial certification and preparing pool settlement reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining Pool Settlement Calendar and CUSIP Numbers.
  • Responsible for maintaining Pool Listing and Commitment Authority.
  • Assist in the preparation of boarding files for Servicing.
  • Assist Director of Capital Markets with managing the overall relationship with Ginnie Mae.
  • Gathers data and executes annual Ginnie Mae re-certification documents.
  • Facilitates the creation and execution of various loan origination systems reporting and spreadsheet based analysis to support the Capital Markets workflow

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related financial discipline or equivalent mortgage banking or capital markets work experience
  • 5+ years Secondary Marketing Experience preferred plus a mandatory 3-5 years current direct experience in a Ginnie Mae Delivery Role
  • Solid working knowledge of GSE regulations and guidelines governing the secondary marketing and mortgage securities pooling with emphasis on Ginnie Mae with preference given to candidates who have knowledge across all GSEs
