KJ is a seasoned radio veteran with a polished sound, poised style, down-home sense of humor, and a stunning personality. The Kentucky native’s ascent began in Louisville, where she served as a midday host before advancing to music director and assistant program director. KJ became the first African American woman to program three urban radio properties simultaneously. She later worked in the Carolinas and Dallas, a top-five market, before moving to Denver.
Amassing an impressive track record, Ms. Bland has been honored by countless organizations for her contributions both to the community and profession. She’s been recognized by The YMCA as a two-time recipient of The Adult Achiever of the Year, The Midwest Radio and Records Association, The Community and Church Living Legends, Blue Chip Broadcasting Personality of the Year, 10 Shades Of Success Recipient, “Who’s Who In Black Dallas” and featured in many national trade publications for her outstanding work.
Ms. Bland is also a successful female entrepreneur having founded "Smooth Vibes Mobile Lattes,” “KJ’s Kitchen Kreations,” “Midday Enterprises"', "Airchek Concierge" to coach on-air radio talent, and “Hey Girl Nation,” an organization started to empower, entertain and inspire women from across the world. In addition, KJ is the owner of “KJ's Kloset," an upscale resale online boutique that allows women in the community to dress for success while seeking employment.
