Phil Cowan previously hosted the morning show on
Talk 650's sister-station Y92.5 since 1988. We persuaded
him to stick around a little bit later in the day,
take the long trek down the hall to the Talk 650
studios to talk the day's issues, and Sacramento
is all the better for it. "The Phil Cowan Show,"
weekday mornings from 10 am to Noon.
He
started his radio career in 1984 at a little station
in Roseville called KPOP. Seeking fame and fortune,
he was fired by radio stations in Detroit and Dallas
before returning to Sacramento. In March 1988, he
began his duties at Y92.5, and that's where he could
have been heard weekdays from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m.,
until June 15, 2006, when he now completely dedicates
his complete attention to Talk 650 KSTE.
The
most important role he plays, however, is that of
husband and father. Phil and his wife, Kathleen,
have been married for 23 years. They have three
daughters and a son.
